1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Semora ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Semora is a mobile application that helps students manage their academic tasks, deadlines, and grades. The App provides syllabus scanning powered by AI, task management, grade tracking, and calendar synchronization features.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Semora offers both free and paid subscription tiers ("Semora Pro").
  • Semora Pro costs $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Card payments on the web are charged in US dollars; on the App Store, Apple charges the local equivalent for your storefront. Prices are shown before purchase.
  • Pro is billed one of two ways, depending on where you subscribe: through Apple's App Store if you subscribe in the iOS app, or by card through our payment processor, Stripe, if you subscribe at app.semoraai.com. Semora never receives or stores your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • To cancel an App Store subscription, use your Apple ID account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. To cancel a card subscription, open Settings in Semora and choose Manage Semora Plan, which opens the Stripe billing portal.
  • Canceling stops future renewals. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Free trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their refund policies.
  • For card payments made on the web: email semora365@gmail.com within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full, no questions asked.
  • We will also refund a renewal charge if you contact us within 14 days of it and you have not used Pro since it renewed.

5. Free Tier Limitations

The free tier includes limited syllabus scans, a limited number of courses per semester, same-day deadline reminders, and basic grade display. Pro features include unlimited scans and courses, grade scale customization, advance reminders, and calendar synchronization.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
  • Interfere with the App's functionality or attempt to reverse-engineer it.

7. AI-Powered Features

The App uses artificial intelligence to extract information from syllabus documents. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated results may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted information. Semora is not liable for missed deadlines or incorrect information resulting from AI processing.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Semora. Your academic data remains your property.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

Semora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to missed deadlines, incorrect grade calculations, or data loss.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
